When you compare Halong Bay cruise prices, two trips that look similar can cost quite differently. The difference usually comes down to a handful of choices: how long you sail, which ship and cabin you pick, when you travel and what is included. This guide walks through each factor so you can understand the price before you book with Milalux & MilaGrand.
1. Trip Length: 2 Days 1 Night or 3 Days 2 Nights
The number of nights on board is the biggest driver of a Halong Bay cruise price. A longer trip means more meals, more excursions and more time in your cabin.
- 2 Days 1 Night – ideal for a short stay. On Milalux, the 2D1N itinerary covers Halong Bay highlights such as Sung Sot Cave and Titov Island. On Mila Grand, the 2D1N itinerary heads into Lan Ha Bay, including Dark & Bright Cave and Trung Trang Cave.
- 3 Days 2 Nights – adds a full extra day. The Milalux 3D2N itinerary includes a day boat to Lan Ha Bay, while the Mila Grand 3D2N itinerary adds cycling at Viet Hai Village and kayaking at Ba Trai Dao Beach.
2. Ship and Cabin Category
Each ship offers several suite categories, and the category you choose has a direct effect on the price. Larger suites, family layouts and top-tier suites cost more than entry-level cabins.
Milalux Cruises (20 cabins)

Travelling as a family or a group of three? Connecting, triple and family cabins can be better value than booking two separate rooms.
3. Season and Travel Dates
Demand changes throughout the year. Popular periods such as spring, autumn and the year-end holidays fill up faster, so booking early gives you more choice of cabins. 4. Transfers from Hanoi
Transfers are an easy cost to overlook. Round-trip transport between Hanoi and Halong Bay is not included in the cruise packages, so add it to your budget:
- A shuttle can be booked for pick-up in the Hanoi Old Quarter (Mila Grand guests can also travel by limousine to the Mila Grand Private Lounge at Tuan Chau Marina).
- For pick-ups or drop-offs outside the Hanoi Old Quarter, a surcharge of US$5–10 per person applies (listed rates at the time of writing).
- Private cars, airport transfers and larger vehicles are quoted on request.

5. Children’s Rates
Travelling with kids can lower the total cost. Under the current children’s policy (listed rates at the time of writing):
- One child under 5 sharing a bed with parents: free of charge.
- One child aged 5–10 sharing a bed with parents: 75% of the adult rate.
- Children aged 11 and above: charged as adults.
- Two children under 5 sharing a bed with parents: one stays free, the other is charged 50% of the adult rate.
6. What Is Included – and What Is Not
When comparing prices, check what each package covers. Our cruise packages include your cabin, all meals listed in the itinerary, an English-speaking guide, sightseeing fees and activities such as kayaking and squid fishing (weather permitting). Extras usually include drinks, spa treatments, transfers and personal expenses. 7. Cancellation Policy
Flexibility also has a value. Cancellations made more than 60 days before departure are free; charges then increase as the departure date gets closer. A cruise cancelled due to bad weather or force majeure is free of charge. See the full terms on the Payment & Policy page.
